OPI Germanicure by OPI & Every month is Oktoberfest - Swatches & Comparison!!

Hi everyone!

Today I am showing off the two vampy shimmers of the OPI Germany collection for Fall 2012. I don't wear a lot of vampy colours but these do look perfect for the fall season, and the shimmer in them is pretty darn gorgeous.

First up is Germanicure by OPI. A blackened burgundy base with an intense orange toned red shimmer. Once again, this is super perfect for fall. The formula I found to be a little thin, but pretty pigmented. This is three coats, but two would have been fine. No topcoat, and photos were taken in my lightbox.

Second up to bat is Every Month is Oktoberfest. Gorgeous deep blurple base (which you can only see on the first coat, it is very blackened on the nail after two coats) and it has an intense red toned purpled shimmer. It is once again.. super perfect for fall. Formula was again a little thin, but pigmented. This was three coats, but it would have been fine with two. These pictures are without topcoat, and were taken in my lightbox.

Now when I was buying these.. I was like "Holy moly, these look similar in the bottle!" I kept having to pick them up to look at the names to see the difference. That, along with the fact that  they are both vampy shimmers.. I thought I would compare them.

Here they are in the bottles.
Every Month is Oktoberfest is on the left, and Germanicure by OPI is on the right.

Now on the nails!
Index & ring finer: Every Month is Oktoberfest
Middle and pinky: Germanicure by OPI

On the nail they are obviously different, but they're both gorgeous. It is justifiable to need both. I don't wear too many vampy colours but I really like these two. I think it is because the shimmer makes them look very glowy and they are both quite flattering :)

Layering Day! Nfu Oh 51!

This is one of my favourite polishes, and at the moment, my first and only Nfu Oh (I hope to get my hands on some more soon though).

Its a gorgeous colour shifting polish with multi-chrome shimmer AND flakies!!!!!! The base is sort of a blurple jelly like base, and the flakies are pretty abundant. The colour shifts from red, to orange, to gold, to green. Its very very obvious in person too.
It applied really well. I think it would probably take about three coats for it to be opaque on it's own but to conserve polish, and to give it a little bit of a funky look, I used one coat over Illamasqua stance - A bright fuchsia, and I think it looks awesome.

Ouu I love Nfu Oh bottles. I think they're awesome!

These next few really show off the colour shift :)

Omggg it is so pretty. I'm in love with it. I might marry this polish in the near future. I got my bottle from Nail Polish Canada where they carry brands that aren't readily accessable to us Canadians for pretty good prices :) The prices for Nfu Oh vary between $9.50-$12.50 and they carry all the flakies and holos and other great ones too! They also ship quickly! I'll be ordering some more soon :)

Orly Dark Shadows, Mysterious Curse! Swatch & Review

Herro!

Orly just put out a new collection inspired by the Tim Burton remake movie called Dark Shadows. Dark shadows was originally a goth soap opera from way back when, and I was super stoked to hear Johnny Depp would be portraying Barnabas Collins. Im actually excited about Michelle Pfeiffer too! I think its going to be one of those melodramatic movies that some people hate... but I think it will be awesome!!
I love Johnny Depp so much ever since I was a little girl and would watch Edward Scissor Hands on repeat for hours and hours, and Benny and Joon is in my top 5 favourite movies EVER so the collector inside me NEEDED a "Johnny" polish to covet and cuddle with at night time.

Orly came up with four shades, but I pretty much had dupes for the all the others so I really couldn't justify buying all of them. (My inner hoarder will probably go back next week and pick up the rest of them).

The one I did pick was Mysterious Curse. I'm pretty sure it is purple(??), but in some lights it looks blue too(??)! Its one of those odd purple/blue - blurple shades, and I love it. Its a dark dark base, with an INTENSE visible almost all the time beautiful strong blue shimmer! Its so pretty!!!

These next two are more in the shade, and show the base colour pretty well!

Overall the formula was alright! Somewhat goopy but two coats was all I needed! I really like this polish. It doesn't scream summertime to me but it definitely screams dark shadows to me, and I like that. I'll be wearing it when I go see the movie :)

Here is the trailer for the movie if you're interested in watching it!
