OPI Pink Friday!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

This weekend I am going back to my undergrad university for homecoming! My school has the strongest alumni network in Canada, and I love it with my whole darn heart. *School themed Mani coming soon!*

Today I am wearing OPI Pink Friday! After Mod About You, this is probably most frequently worn pink! Pretty bang on for bubblegum pink creme. Not terribly unique, but quite pretty! I did three coats, but two would have probably done just fine.

New Essence Color and Go! Date in the Moonlight & Gorgeous Bling Bling!

Hey everyone!

In case you didn't know, Essence has revamped their Color & Go line! The bottles have a new rounded shape and are bigger! They old bottles were 5ml, and the new ones are 8ml (for comparison, an OPI bottle is 15ml & a HITS bottle is 7ml). They have kept some of their old staple colours, but also added some new ones! Today I am showing you two of their new colours, Date in the Moonlight & Gorgeous Bling Bling!

Here is a photo of the new bottles :)

First up is Date in the Moonlight. Its a dark grey-ed blue base with bright blue shimmer. The shimmer is obvious on the nail, not at all hidden. I like it quite a bit. Applied wonderfully, this is two coats and no topcoat. Look how shiny it dries!

The second colour is Gorgeous Bling Bling! Its a pretty unique colour, at first I thought it was a little dated.. but when I got it on it looked perfect for the fall season. It looks like a burnt orange or a lighter version of terracotta. Reminds me of bricks almost. There is a golden chunky flake-like glass fleck shimmer that is super pretty too. Here I am wearing 2 coats and no topcoat. It dried super shiny too.

These formulas are top notch, like I expect for essence. I always like their polishes and I am impressed with the new colours they've added and of course, the bigger bottles :) What do you think of the revamped Color & Go line?!

Dollish Polish It's A Me, Mario Manicure!

I've swatched this a few times, but today I am wearing It's A Me, Mario! as a full manicure and I love it :) I layered two coats over a red base (I forget which one now, sorry!). I love how this looks, especially the little silver holographic star on the ring finger :)

I hope you like it too!

Candeo Colors Orchid Swatch!

Hi!

Today I am sporting Candeo Colors Orchid. This is a bright pink jelly polish full of different sizes of holo glitter! It is pretty much its own jelly sandwich in a bottle! My glitter was sinking a bit when I got it in the mail.. but it shook up to suspend just fine :) This is three coats! So squishy, I love it. Plus orchids are my favourite flowers, they remind me of my late aunt who I miss dearly <3

I hope you like it!

OPI Absolutely Alice.. A lemming fulfilled!

Hi :)

I have been majorly slacking on the posting lately because I have been a busy bee packing up stuff from the ol' blog sale! Thinning out the stash is a good thing, and even better because the polishes are going to new homes :D

Speaking of blog sales, this is where I found this baby! Isn't she gorgeous? Absolutely Alice is pretty HTF and I was so happy to snag it along with its brother.. Mad As A Hatter which i have yet to try on. Excited though!

AA is VERY sparkly blue micro glitter with a splattering of gold. Here is three coats and top coat. It is seriously some of the most sparkly glitter I have ever seen! If you ever see it, snatch this bad boy up!! Its worth it :) (I heard there are fakes around though, so make sure you see a picture of the label before you buy!)

It gives me red hands like most blues do on my skin.. but I don't care! I like it anyway :)

Dollish Polish The Many Shades of Mr.Grey. A Mani inspired by 50 shades.

Hello!

Today I am sporting a manicure inspired by the book series, 50 Shades of Grey. I'm sure you've heard of it. Hahaha While entertaining, I must admit it is not a writing style I like. I much prefer... you know.. stories with a plot. Well actually I prefer to read more classic books, or even more so fantasy novels. I love me a good fantasy novel (currently into Game of Thrones). It took me practically forever to creep through these three books. But I did eventually (with help from a few long plane rides) and I suppose I did get into it a bit. Haha! Dollish Polish created a very nice polish inspired by Christian, and it is a beautiful polish. A clear base stuffed with.. you guessed it, many shades of grey glitter.

I decided to layer it over grey obviously, Zoya Dove to be exact. I decided to do a glitter gradient in the spirit of the "many shades"of Christian and his development as a character in the book. It applied very well and it is a happy new edition to my stash. I quite liked the way this turned out :)

I think it looks quite chic, even with all the glammy glitter! I hope you like it :)

OPI Germanicure by OPI & Every month is Oktoberfest - Swatches & Comparison!!

Hi everyone!

Today I am showing off the two vampy shimmers of the OPI Germany collection for Fall 2012. I don't wear a lot of vampy colours but these do look perfect for the fall season, and the shimmer in them is pretty darn gorgeous.

First up is Germanicure by OPI. A blackened burgundy base with an intense orange toned red shimmer. Once again, this is super perfect for fall. The formula I found to be a little thin, but pretty pigmented. This is three coats, but two would have been fine. No topcoat, and photos were taken in my lightbox.

Second up to bat is Every Month is Oktoberfest. Gorgeous deep blurple base (which you can only see on the first coat, it is very blackened on the nail after two coats) and it has an intense red toned purpled shimmer. It is once again.. super perfect for fall. Formula was again a little thin, but pigmented. This was three coats, but it would have been fine with two. These pictures are without topcoat, and were taken in my lightbox.

Now when I was buying these.. I was like "Holy moly, these look similar in the bottle!" I kept having to pick them up to look at the names to see the difference. That, along with the fact that  they are both vampy shimmers.. I thought I would compare them.

Here they are in the bottles.
Every Month is Oktoberfest is on the left, and Germanicure by OPI is on the right.

Now on the nails!
Index & ring finer: Every Month is Oktoberfest
Middle and pinky: Germanicure by OPI

On the nail they are obviously different, but they're both gorgeous. It is justifiable to need both. I don't wear too many vampy colours but I really like these two. I think it is because the shimmer makes them look very glowy and they are both quite flattering :)

Blog Sale!

I have updated my blog sale, take a look at the tab above if you are interested :)

Candeo Colors Melonball :)

Hi ya'll!

Today I am wearing Candeo Colour's Melonball. I have been searching and searching all summer for a Melonball type of polish, and I finally get a hold of one.. after summer is over. Haha But I don't care, I am wearing this year round because it is VERY pretty :)

I really like the glitter mix in this polish. I'll let the picture do the talking but I will say the tiny circular glitters are awesome.. and so are the red hexes.

I layered Melonball over Zoya Traci, and I think it was a very good match. I love the way it looks. Formula wise, it was thick, but the glitter spread well. The shiny pink glitters did start to curl on me though, I needed a coat of Gelous and two coats of SV to make them not stick out. I feel that is important to mention.

Melonball is exclusive to llarowe and you can find it at www.shop.llarowe.com.

*Just a side note, my bottle came kind of not full. Like pretty much full.. but not all the way. Kinda weird. Not used at all, the neck was completely clean.. I wonder if it was to avoid explosion during the summer months?

Nerd Lacquer, I think you call me... Sexy.

I think you call me... Sexy.

Another Nerd Lacquer lemming squashed. I think I may be officially done throwing cash at NL auctions/blog sales/LJ sales, etc. It is getting out of control. I only have five left on my wishlist I think but that is probably five too many.

This one is so gorgeous though, I found it on a blog sale along with Event Horizon.

"I think you call me.. Sexy" is from inspired by Doctor Who.. and more specifically.. The TARDIS. It is the perfect Tardis blue nail polish. And if you understand what I mean... then you are awesome. It is jam packed with silver and blue glitter.. and even some micro red glitter. It is incredibly sparkly in the sun.

Since I know I won't ever be able to get my hands on another bottle.. I layered this over Zoya Song, but it is definitely possible to get this baby opaque on her own. This picture was taken with topcoat, in my lightbox.

Ugh it is so gorgeous that I don't even care that it gives me lobster hands. It is so vibrant and sparkly.

Anyway, Have a lovely day!

Enchanted Polish Octopus' Garden Swatchfest :)

Hi everyone!

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the iphone pictures in some posts coming up. My camera is having a hissy fit.

But today I am showing you Enchanted Polish's Octopus's Garden from The Beatles collection! A multichrome with a holo finish. It is primarily a deep royal blue with flashes of blurple, violet, red, yellow, and green.

The holo finish is very subtle indoors, where my pictures were taken.. and most of the multichrome colours are only visable at extreme angles. Its still very pretty though! This is three coats and no topcoat. There are a lot of pictures because I wanted to try and capture the colour shift.

& that is it for today!
So long for now :)

I'm home! + Hare Dig Day Dream

Finally. After seventeen hours of traveling I am cosy in my bed :) I have tons of nail mail to show you from my August haul but for now here is a swatch of on of the polishes I got!

This is Hare's Dog Day Dream. I love the name, it reminds me of "the dog days are over" :) and in this case it's true! September is upon us and I am wearing this to try and squeeze a little more summer out of 2012!

This polish is a gorgeous deep jewel toned pink jelly base (appears as a very pretty berry color on the nail after two coats). It's full of chunky pink shimmer, pink and red hex glitters and purple square glitters. It's incredibly pretty, shiny, & squishy, and VERY sparkly in the sun.

This is just two coats for opacity and it applied very nicely. No sinking glitter, no tacos, and no fishing. A very user friendly glitter polish:)

Please excuse the state of my nails and cuticles. My poor nails took quite a beating at work. I refuse to let that stop me from wearing pretty polish though! And I think Dog Day Dream looks pretty good on my nubs :)

Have an awesome day!
(and sorry for the cell phone pic!)

Polished Perfection Leapin' Lizards

Hello :) Just a couple more days left of work for me! In fact, depending on weather tomorrow will be my last full work day! Then I am just a chopper, float plane, shuttle drive, and two commercial flights to go! Then I will be back home to play with my polishes again! My nails have took quite a huge beating here at work though :'( I've been trying to keep my cuticles moisterized and my nails covered in at least SH Nail Miracle or OPI Nail Envy.. but its no match for the chemicals and water my hands are in all day! :(

Annnyywhoooo.... This is a polish I picked up in a blog sale! Polished Perfection Leapin' Lizards! Awesome name right? Well it is an awesome polish too.

Teal holo glitters in all different sizes of bars and hexes in a teal base! Oh and microglitter too! There is a LOT of teal and a LOT of holo going on in this polish! Application was flawless. The teal base really helped make the colour opaque at two coats and the glitter went on where it was supposed to, layed flat (even the bar glitter!), and no fishing was needed at all. I like that :)

Two coats and topcoat in these pictures :) Some were taken in the sun and the last one is indoors :)

I will wear this one a lot, I really liked it :) Hope you do too!

Joe Fresh Fluo Blue VS Essence Lets Get Lost! Comparison Post!

Hi!

Comparison post day today :) This is Joe Fresh Fluo Blue VS Essence Let's Get Lost! Both are gorgeous vibrant blues leaning towards the aqua/turquoise end of the blue spectrum.

I'll let you guess which is which!

Index & Middle: Essence Lets Get Lost
Middle & Pinky: Joe Fresh Fluo Blue

Verdict: Not Dupes. Essence is just SLIGHTLY darker and just SLIGHTLY muted compared to the Joe Fresh. However when worn on its own it still appears bright and vibrant. Both formulas are awesome and its possible to get away with just one coat of both! Joe Fresh retails for 3/10 dollars and the Essence for 1.50.. Both bottles are on the smaller side with the Joe Fresh being a little bit bigger than the Essence.

I don't think you need both but you definitely need at least one! This colour is awesome and the great formula and price makes it EXTRA awesome :)

Lynnderella The Telltale Heart Swatch

Helllooooo!

First of all.. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS SEPTEMBER! WTF? Time is flying by with this job. Last I checked.. I'm pretty sure it was May. I hope the weather holds up so I can go to the beach at least ONCE when I get home!

Second of all.. speaking of home.. I go home on Thursday from work! Woohoo! I actually adore the camp I am working in so it is a little bitter sweet.. hopefully I will be back.

ON TO THE POLISH.
Today I am showing you Lynnderella The Telltale Heart from her Halloween Collection from 2011. Different sizes and shapes of Magenta/Fuchsia glitter with a chunky blue obvious shimmer. The base of mine is a little bit tinted magenta. I don't know if that is from bleeding glitter or if it was "intentional".

My favourite part of the polish are the large square glitters and the blue shimmer.. looks cool with the magenta. This is one coat over black.

It is a very pretty polish but I don't wear it very often. I am thinking about swapping this one!
What do you think?
